Drinks, Meals & Heels-What To do This Weekend.

Hey all you Ms. Heel's out there, time for a lon-guh, well-deserved weekend. First things first, grab a cocktail dammit! And since it is Memorial Day weekend, pour a lil somethun, somethun out for the brotha's and sista's that are no longer with us! Here are some recent places I've been, that I think would be great places to get your sip on:

• If in Atlanta, I discovered the coolest sports bar. Called the Ultimate Sports Bar in CampCreek. It's perfectly decorated in a combo of girl meets guy style. Adorned with huge glitzy chandeliers, 60" flat screen tv.'s everywhere and a live D.J., it's the place to watch the NBA play-offs with your man (or look for one) and not feel unwelcome (go Lakers).

• Miami (South Beach), Florida. "They're baaack..." That's what all the locals say this weekend (probably in Spanish), because South Beach gets invaded by Black people this time every year. Expect the usual suspects of: celebrities, wanna-be's, and unsuspecting tourists from Kansas who have never seen this many Black people at one time...you're not in Kansas anymore honey-trust me! Plus lots of wackiness (behavior and tobacco). Grab a seat and a frozen drink (well try to-lines are horrendous), at Wet Willie's and people watch for hours!

• Get your drink on, while on a yacht or a small cruising vessel. I can't swim a lick, but love sailing on the open water with a glass of something in my hand! And yeah, I'm that chick on a boat, in a fabulous "Dynasty" style floppy hat, heels and jewelry-what can I say, always a Diva!

Ok gurls, now that I've given you some ideas, it is your American duty to grab a six pack, some white heels (it's officially summer) and remember someone who has served this country.

This is one of Marilyn Monroe's most famous quotes. And she oughta know; she was by far the world's most legendary and infamous sex symbol EVER-even posthumous! But have you ever stopped and really pondered what the world would be like without the heel?

I have and it scares the bejeeba's out of me! Seriously folks, perish the thought...please!

• How do you dress up without a heel?
• What if you're height challenged and wanna be taller? This is a question for both women and men-yes men, (think Prince or the artist who wishes he was at least 5'8).
• How do you have a "Gentleman's Ballet," without a 6 inch Lucite stiletto?
• Do you throw on a pair of crocs for a hot date or when I...uh, I mean you, want to be a 'private dancer' for your man-NOT!
• And really, what would Sex & the City be, without Carrie's passionate shoe fetish?

There is just something really special and intangible about a heel. Heels stimulate our visual sensors; arouses deep desires in others and makes the wearer feel sexier. We strut instead of walk. We hold our heads higher, thereby sticking out our boobies and booties in the process. Heels increase one's sex appeal quotient-sending it immeasurably off the charts. As a girl that is totally boy-crazy, even I get a (non-sexual) thrill when I see a woman with her shit together, dressed to the nines (in heels of course)!

So yeah Marilyn, I totally agree with you. I only hope that I am carrying the love and vision on for whomever created the heel, I am soooo grateful...as I'm sure Prince is too!

p.s. Prince would probably be more grateful, if ya'll would go get his lastest album.

When the President's away...

The First Lady wears heels!!! OMG I've been patiently (ok pulling my hair out), waiting on Michelle's inner Ms. Heel to come out and play. I know, I know, at 5'11 she's right up there with President Obama, who's 6'2. And when Michelle wears heels, she makes the leader of the free world appear not as powerful.

So I guess appearing and sitting beside Mayor Bloomberg of NYC is ok (whom in other shots, she towers over). But I knew like I knew, that Michelle was just like the rest of us-she too needs at least 3 inches (every once in awhile)! Let's also give her major props for not wearing pantyhose-is this a first? I truly do not ever remember Laura or her mother-in-law going without hosiery.

Finally, Michelle is famous for her kitten heels (ugh). But yesterday gurls, she released her inner sex kitten...don't act like you don't see that deep v-neck on her dress. Ms. Heel, oops Mrs. Obama, you are truly change we can believe in and (cleavage) we can see!

Oh Yes She Canne!

Mrs. Nick Cannon, a.k.a., Mariah Carey, showed up and showed out with her husband at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival in France. Mariah (Ms Heel), has famously stated, that she can now wear heels because Nick is tall and that flats are not in her repertoire-luvv that!

I have absolutely no clue as to what her heels look like, but I can definitely see the love between her and Nick! As I always say girls, "Life is too short-wear heels." And while you're at it, getcha some good loving too...
