Congrats to myself for doing my first video! Why have I been so nervous-who knows...but it's done and really didn't hurt that much. ;-)

It's a look inside my (very crowded) closet. I'm always asked, exactly how many pairs of shoes do I have; at this point it's over a 100 pairs & growing!

As the weather is changing, so is my state of mind.

Sssh...My Only Friends, Are My Shoes!

TGIF!!!

Ok Ms. Vette Vette, please don't be alarmed by the title of this blog. You are my roaddog, my bottom & top be-otch, my bestie for life and my truest friend that knows me like no one else.

But besides you, when you're not around, I only have my shoes to make me feel better! Whenever that awful heartachey feeling or pressures of running a business gets to be too much, I go in my closet, put on a pair of heels along with some music and jive the pain away.

And I'm not alone.

Ms. Jessica Simpson feels the same way. She says shoes are her best friends. With her eponymous shoe collection bringing in a reported $750 million, hell-I can see why! But for me, I'm just a girl with a shoe fetish that I turned into a business. So when all hell seems to be breaking loose, or that guy...OMG, that guy who was so sexy, tall, handsome and intelligent, whom I really wanted to just love "silly" doesn't work out, I strap on a pair of heels and strut my stuff through this day, the next day and the next; hopefully when I least expect it, I'll strut my stuff straight into another man's heart!

And a very loving happy birthday to my baby boy!

Yep, 11 years ago, I welcomed my beautiful son to this world. I chose to not show the picture of him now, for obvious reasons. But I could not let this day pass, without acknowledging his life.

Why?

Because he's my life! I work as hard as I do-just for him. As a divorced mom, I have to work double time (be both mom & dad), to make life good for him. While watching him eat his birthday breakfast this morning, I wondered, my God, where has the time gone? Trust me people, try like hell to enjoy every precious moment with your children.

Furthermore, I'm sharing one of my favorite pics of my son and I. Taken at the age of 3, I can so remember buying those beautiful baby Tod's loafers for him. I eventually gave them away, but now wish I had kept them. They were his favorite shoes! And the boots I'm wearing, I can recall (fondly) plopping my AmEx card down for those Italian babies (which I still have) at Bergdorf Goodman's in New York city...ahhhh the memories of a good buy.

When A Man Loves A Woman...

...he loves to see her looking damn good!

Whether you're a fan of President Obama & First Lady Michelle or not, the one thing you cannot deny, is the energy and level of emotional intensity they feel towards one another...it's palpable!

If you've ever had a man to look at you the way Barack looks at Michelle, then this is a refresher course. But if you have not, I really do feel sorry for you. There's no greater feeling than to have your man, stare longingly at you and knowing that although he's loving how beautiful you look at this moment, that he's also dying to get you alone! I just recently had this feeling and damn it felt good! It's like a love jolt from the heavens; I had forgotten how good that feeling is. Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Oh how I love to laugh and love over a good cocktail (or 3)!

Here I am with a good grown-ass girlfriend (a sweet lil thang from St. Louis-such an inside joke) and for the life of me, I cannot tell you what we were discussing; (but if I had to guess...gonna go out on a limb here, probably Men-how to get one, how to do one and how to dump one)! Whichever the case, it made us chuckle for a minute, ok 30.

I do believe laughter is the best medicine and the best antidote for curing just about anything! So go ahead, call up a good gurlfriend, put on your hottest heels, hit a great bar (with a good bartender with a heavy hand) and share as many "cocktales" as possible ;-)

Saying good-Bye To 4 Decades of Fun & Fashion!

Hello Everyone!

Tomorrow I say good-bye to the best year of my life! That's right, my 40th year has been filled with so much fun, whirlwind luv affairs, yes, some love gone wrong, triumphs and even joyous tribulations (we all know,what doesn't kill ya, makes you stronger)!

But as I look ahead to what the next 40 years will bring, I'm overjoyed with excitement! I've learned that life is definitely more fun when you live it out loud. You must learn to laugh at yourself. Don't sweat the small stuff; and you must treat EVERYONE from your garbage collector to your President with the same respect! Furthermore, when you go outta your way to brighten someone else's day, what comes back to you is immeasurable and immensely satisfying.

O and my beloved fashion...how do I love thee! Fashion has been such a huge part of my life, since I was a poor black girl in Oklahoma. ;-) I never imagined that fashion would take me to the runways of Paris, New York City and all points in between! It's truly my first love.

That's why owning Ms. Heel.com is such a pleasure. I jump out of the bed early and go to bed late at night, all because of the love I have for this lil venture. My birthday wish to you all, is for you to find what makes your heart sing and never stop pursuing it!
