When Did Men Become The New Woman?

Good Monday Morning All!

Take a good look at this photo.

I'm scratching my head over how men with full male features, beards & mustaches (not even trying to be in drag), have hijacked femininity!

WTF??!!!

For the record, I'm all about living your authentic self. Gay, lesbian, straight or crooked, it's all good with me. But this seems cartoonish, caricature like. I mean, the heels, the ultra-feminine clothing, the purses and sometimes, full-on faces of makeup...why? Seriously, can a man who dresses this way, PLEASE explain this behavior to me!

But on the flip side, women have started to behave like men!
Examples:

1. Women talk like men. The other day on the radio, I heard a woman, who's married with children, say "Dude", "hey man", "brotha" throughout an entire conversation she was having with another man! OK... And did you hear several women candidates this past election season, tell a number of their male opponents to, "Man Up!"? I swear, some women think they have a bigger set than most men!

2. Women pay for dates! NUFF SAID.

3. Women ask men out and even plan (and pay) for exotic vacations with men, they're only having casual sex with!

4. Women have bought into the idea of having sex like men. Meaning, they've taken on the attitude of sleeping with lots of men without an emotional commitment. Pretending that all those hook-ups, have absolutely no effect on their well-being-NOT!

5. Women are despising chivalry! Don't want their doors held open, not into having chairs pulled out, and couldn't care less, if the guy orders before them!

6. Women pursue men! Women will call or nowadays the preferred method is to text a man constantly! Inquiring about his day, send just thinking of you texts and text him late at night, trying to nail down a Friday or Saturday night hook-up...REALLY GIRLS???

7. Women can out-party men! C'mon, haven't you seen the chick (or maybe this is you), who can out drink her male counterparts in a bar on any given Sunday; chain-smoke his ass right under the table and knows how to roll a joint better than any thug/bad boy...oh hell, Cheech or Chong!

8. Women dress like men! We wear baggy jeans and pants; we run around in baseball hats, sweats and freakin' flip-flops even on dates! We proudly proclaim our no make-up policy at work, and 4-5 days out of the week. And dresses, well those are reserved for funerals!

Gosh, after actually putting all these reasons down on paper, I see why men have picked up our slack!

I'm sorry, but I miss the days of when Men were Men and women were beautiful and sophisticated and enjoyed dressing up for whatever the occasion called for.

Oh well...thank God for Mad Men and France!

  2. I wish you could stand at the highest peak in the world and read this list. I remember the first time I went for the door of the car when I was dating my husband he in a not so soft voice said NO! from that day forward I don't even look at the door knob. Even doors of restaurants and such I don't touch the knob and I few times I have seen women give me a look like excuse me! I could go on and on about this topic. Women really need to bring back the femininity. I am guilty of running to the post office on Saturday morning with a CUTE skull hat one but I have on a cute outfit with gloss or lipstick. Kudos to all the women who have not lost touch with their feminine side and KUDOS to you Ms Heel for calling some women out!

  3. Thanks anonymonous!
I, like you, will wear baseball caps and skull caps BUT I'll have on makeup and heels (of course)! There's a time and place for everything. But seriously the next time you're out, really look at us. It's a sad time for Venus. ;)

Maybe I'm just old (40), but I miss the Old School/Motown ways, when men treated women with so much more respect AND we as women, respected ourselves more!

Keep up the good work and thanks again for commenting!
