A BOOK I WISH YOU'D READ!

Good manic Monday morning to all!

I've never recommended a book since I've been blogging; but "The Wishing Year" a wonderful memoir by Noelle Oxenhandler, is a great testament to the power of wishing! The author sets out to achieve three things in a year, through the powerful (unbeknownst to her), magic of wishful thinking:

  • A house
  • A man
  • Her soul

And like any good fairytale, her wishes all come true! This is an awesome example of an adult fairytale that is believable and yet filled with just the right amount of skepticism. Ironically enough, for whatever reason, it took me about a year to read this book. Probably because throughout the year, I too suffered from bouts of critical "get real" thinking and was lead away from this book. But I always kept it beside my bed on my bed tray and it would get passed over for fashion mags, a couple of Wayne Dyer books, A New Earth by Eckart Tolle and Tarot Cards for Dummies-don't ask! But this weekend I finally finished and so glad I did.

Hope you find the time to get (and read) this book. And hey, it's only the 11th day of 2010, why not set out this year to wish for 3 things and see what happens...
