Why is it when women get seriously dressed up, other people (especially women), assume that the woman is a Bitch? On Sunday, I attended a brunch with a group of women and I cannot begin to tell you how many nasty looks, comments and glares we all received. Ooh honey and God forbid if the men that accompanied them, made a comment or asked why we were all wearing hats-these girls went off! Who's the bitch now?
A well dressed woman is just that- a well dressed woman. Could she be a bitch? Absolutely. But she could be one in a tee shirt and jeans as well. I think we've all watched waay too much Dynasty. And are assuming that the well-dressed lady is a rich bitch! We were a group of philanthropic girls, who got together to celebrate a members birthday and decided to dress up to mark the occasion.
Now cut to me leaving brunch and the lady who almost ran me over, (and flipped me the bird) while walking as a pedestrian and she was in her car, uh... that's a bitch-ON WHEELS!
(I'm the girl in the brown gladiator boots)
You are a DIVA! ms lady so you are just going to have to get use to the attention. lol. But seriously, it is hurtful that we as women don't compliment each other as much as we should. That is one of the reasons I have trouble forming female friendships. Whenever I attend an event alone I look for a group of friendly faces but I usually get some angry stares in return. Why are we so threatened by other women? I usually walk right up to a group of men who are more that happy to make my aquaintance. But this brings even more death stares because now I'm the ho trying to take all the men! By instinct, I dont even try to speak to women anymore. Its too hard. Thats why I appreciate the Black Doll Affair so much. Speaking of DIVAS! My grandmother never left the house without looking picture perfect. She would put on her Sunday best, apply her make up, style her own hair then top it off with a tiara. My mom makes me laugh talking about everyone staring at this women with this sparkling crown on her head. "who is that?" "she must be a queen of some small nation!" She certainly wasn't afraid of being noticed.
